Chinese Shame Part No.3

Mike Zhang Scam Nanjing Road, Shanghai, @SteveAllenPhoto via Twenty20

Now it is Mike Zhang, some other Chinese, who thinks he can do business from Shanghai through blackmail. We reported a few times about his co-workers before.

He poses as a semi-state company that manages domains in China. Zhang works with brutal blackmail. He is a clown in the international domain extortion business and still has an ace up his sleeve. But Zhang is a toothless tiger – his overcharge methods have spread to the USA and Europe.

The blackmail always follows the same pattern, Zhang proposes to buy the domain with the company or blog name from him for overpriced costs for the next decades. Otherwise, he can’t guarantee anything. The Chinese authorities are already dealing with the many small Zhang’s of this world. Too many complaints came in about the extortionists, even China had to react.

Move the e-mail to the rubbish bin, don’t react if the Shanghai writer gets too pushy, write a short letter to the local Chinese embassy if Zhang or his partners get to aggressive.
