Questions and Answers about Scam #2

You have something against Africans, is the second question.

Never!

How could we have anything against the continent on which the cradle of mankind stands, which is unsurpassable in beauty, whose beautiful and negative sides are almost unbearable?

It is a certain ambivalence, and if you look at the weather map above, you will see that part of our editorial team of scammer.news is based in Johannesburg. There, where life pulsates and our roots lie.

We never have anything against Africa or against Africans per se. Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa. It is not as if every Nigerian is bad, just because a fraction of the country’s people have scampered, creating a veritable industry and service sector that has become the model of society everywhere in Africa.

We also understand that African states, in their thoroughly corrupt way of dealing with political conditions, are hardly in a position to offer anything to the youth and especially to those who end up working in the illegal call centres in Abuja, Dakar or Abidjan.

Africa, however, has to tackle its problems in a different way than with such stories, some of which are really, and we admit it, amusing. Many victims fall by the wayside. Also, the reputation of countries like Nigeria, Ghana or Côte d’Ivoire is damaged and the whole world associates them with these insane stories.

We also know that some scam comes from India, Pakistan, Burkina Faso and now also from Ukraine and other countries. Because the youth have almost no perspective, they stiffen to serve a certain wing of cybercrime without restraint.

It is not even directed against Africa, but against the conditions caused by the predations of the Nigerian mafia in Europe and elsewhere. Actually, there are just as many victims in Africa.

It has just become known in this context that much of the money earned in Europe goes into the arms trade and civil wars. In return, people in Europe suffer, who are promised love but never receive it. It is always the same pattern: gain trust and then exert pressure day and night. The so-called romance scam is extremely successful in the age of the internet, a time when people no longer meet in person but only virtually.

This new way is accompanied by the social networks that have emerged over the last decade and a half and have grown into an elementary means of human communication. Anyone who has ever dealt with the subject understands that many of Africa’s scammers have a lot to gain from these networks.

Millions of dollars are sent to Africa via companies like Western Union or MoneyGram.
In our opinion, it is not enough to put a warning on a transfer form, but a security system must be built in that allows senders to see through such fraud before it actually happens. MoneyGram and Western Union, like other companies in the segment, have to be reproached for making these scams possible in the first place because they make it effortless for the runners who go to collect the money.

Gangs have formed, criminal structures and associations that can hardly be controlled, neither by the African nor the European offices
